Former Congress minister Sham Lal Sharma joins BJP

Jammu: The Congress in Jammu suffered a big jolt on Saturday with a senior party leader and former legislator, Sham Lal Sharma, joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sham Lal was welcomed in BJP fold by party’s National Vice-President and J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna and state president Ravinder Raina along with hundreds of his supporters.

Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said, “I decided to join BJP for the larger interest of Jammu, particularly to end years’ long discrimination.”
