Flag Off Ceremony Marks Commencement of Bharat Darshan Tour in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 07 : The 13th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organized a “Flag Off” Ceremony at its Unit HQ premises in Dignibal, District Ganderbal, marking the beginning of the Bharat Darshan Tour.
The Bharat Darshan Tour, an initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to expose local youths from remote villages of Jammu & Kashmir to the diverse cultural heritage of India. The tour provides participants with firsthand experiences and interactions across various cities, fostering a deeper understanding of the nation’s rich tapestry.
The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his inaugural address, Shri Mukesh Singh Yadav, Commandant of the 13th Bn SSB, elucidated the significance of the tour, which includes 25 youths from villages such as Kulmulla, Bakura, Dignibal, Warpoh, and the Gujjar Bakarwal Hostel. Over the course of seven days, the participants will explore historical monuments and significant landmarks in Jaipur and Delhi. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to meet with the Director General of the SSB and other senior officers at the Force Headquarters in New Delhi.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat commended the participants and urged them to maximize their learnings for the betterment of society. She lauded the efforts of the 13th Bn SSB for organizing such welfare-oriented initiatives.
The event garnered significant attendance, with participants’ guardians and locals from nearby villages joining in support of the endeavor.
