First power lifting competition organized in Pulwama

Pulwama: Team Extream Power Lifting Association & Muscle Mechie Gym in collaboration with Youth Service & Sports department organises First Power Lifting Competition in Pulwama district in which large number of people participated.
The main motto of this event was to promote sports, culture, motivate the youth towards physical fitness, gymnastics and flatten the curve of drug abuse.
The event was organised by Basit Hamid, Prince Ikhlaq, Hanan Cyed, Umar Mushtaq and Shahzaman Nazir and large number of power lifters through out the district participated in this competition.
“It’s first time I’m taking part in such a competition. I’m very excited and happy”, said Haroon one of the participants in the competition.
“Muscle Mechie Gym will always support and organise such kind of events which promote awareness related to fitness by which we can prevent from many diseases. It’s good platform for fitness freaks to show case their talent in such competitions”, said owner of Muscle Mechie Gym Shahzaman Nazir.
Fitness trainer Nasir Ahmad said, “the youngsters should not go towards the contraband activities instead they should make gym daily routine” adding “He’s always on toes to guide people anytime anywhere.”
Mr. Irfan Ali also known as Mr Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion and he said, “I’m touched beyond words by seeing the hard-work and dedication of the organisers and enthusiasm in the participants. Age is no barrier. It’s a limitation you put on your mind. I’m 48 seems like young fit, sound & never give up gym in my life.”
“It was a great platform for the gym freaks to showcase their talent and was a long pending demand of fitness freaks to have such competitions, fulfilled today”, said Basit Hamid one of the main organisers of this event.
Sports Officer Pulwama Mr. Noor ul Haq as Guest of Honour felicitated the winners and said, “one must choose the game of his choice and interest and we are always on toes to felicitate such Participants and events.”
“I had a wonderful time today with all fitness freaks of our district Pulwama. It was most outstanding and unique event in which I experienced that every participant is a winner”, said Prince Ikhlaq one of the organisers.
There were three categories in the event based on the weight of participant.
First was 59-69 Kg, in which
Burhan from Lassipora bagged the First position. Haroon Rashid bagged Second position and Munan Hassan 3rd.
Second was 69-80 kg in which Mauzam Khursheed topped the grade followed by Reyaz Ahmad (2nd position) and Momin Shabir (3rd position).
Third was 80 kg and above in which Muddasir Wali outshines by uplifting the weight of 225 kg followed by Ferooz Ahmad with 220 kg and Danish Nazir secured third position.
“The event was very successful. I would like to congratulate everyone who was the part of this Powerlifting Competition held at Muscle Mechie Gym. I would like to thank you for the most wonderful event. It was fruitful and amazing time for everyone present there”, said Umar Mushtaq during prize distribution cermony.
