Fire erupts in office of forest officer in Jammu, records saved

Srinagar: Fire erupted in office of AD Planning, Forest Department, housed in a building on the rear side of civil secretariat Jammu on Friday.

A senior officer told GNS that the fire erupted in the room apparently due to short-circuit and burnt a chair even as record was saved. Video of the incident showed employees saving the files and eventually dousing the flames.

“Actually timely action by the employees saved the record,” the officer added. (GNS)
