Fire Breaks Out at Carpet Godown in Tengpora, Srinagar

 

 

 

Srinagar: A massive fire broke out at a carpet godown in the Tengpora area of Srinagar on Tuesday, triggering panic in the locality.

 

 

 

 

According to initial reports, flames and thick smoke were seen rising from the godown, prompting locals to alert the Fire and Emergency Services department. Fire tenders rushed to the spot immediately and firefighting operations are currently underway to bring the blaze under control.

 

 

 

Officials said several Fire and Emergency Service personnel are on site and are making all efforts to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

 

 

 

So far, there are no reports of any casualties. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are yet to be ascertained.
