FIR registered against homestay in Budgam for concealing stay of foreign national

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Thursday registered an FIR against the owner of a homestay in the Humhama area of Budgam district for accommodating a foreign national without mandatory reporting.

Police said that during routine inspections of hotels, guest houses and homestays by a team of Police Post Humhama, a violation was detected at Rose Cottage in Friends Enclave, Humhama, where the management had failed to submit Form C for the foreign national.

Police said that verification on the Form-C portal under IVFRT also revealed that the homestay was not registered with the Tourism Department, despite the mandatory requirement for hosting foreign guests.

Accordingly, FIR No. 337/2025 under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, has been registered at Police Station Budgam, they said, adding that investigation has been set into motion.

Budgam Police urged all hotel, guest house, individual house and homestay owners to strictly follow legal requirements and ensure timely submission of Form C through the designated portal. — (KIMS)
