Farooq Abdullah distances himself from PDP’s demand for LG’s resignation

Dr Farooq Abdullah on stand distanced himself from the Peoples Democratic Party’s demand for resignation of Lieutenant Governer Manoj Sinha over civilian killings in Kashmir valley, saying they have no stand over the demand made by his ally.
Days after the PDP demanded resignation of LG Manoj Sinha over deteriorating security situation in J&K, Farooq Abdullah distanced NC from the demand.
“We have no stand over the demand for resignation,” he told mediapersons in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday morning when asked that Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP is seeking resignation of the LG.
The PDP on Friday demanded resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the recent civilian killing spree by militants in the Union Territory.
“So, for its (administration’s) failures, for not being able to protect the people, for the worsening situation and for working against the people, the PDP demands that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has no moral authority left to continue and he should resign. He has failed in his work to provide security and development,” PDP chief spokesperson Suhail Bukhari told mediapersons—(KNO)
