Fake Doctor Asked To Stop Impersonation After 25 Yrs Of Practice In Kupwara
Unregistered clinic still functional
Srinagar, Jan 11: A quack who was running a clinic in Kupwara have been directed by authorities to not perform any medical practice after finding his claims of being “duly qualified doctor” fake.
Nazir Ahmad Mir was running Clinic and had been prescribing allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines to patients. His clinic was well known in the locality due to less medical facilities available in his village and its adjacent areas.
Speaking to ANN News, ADMO (deputy director Ayush) Kupwara said that the documents produced by the fake doctor “doesn’t make him eligible for practice.”
“The documents he produced in our office don’t make him eligible for any medical practice. He is not also registered as doctor in official records — a mandatory provision for any doctor prior to practice. He has been impersonating as doctor from past several years,” he added.
He said his office has communicated the facts to district administration Kupwara “and are waiting for further directions.”
The authorities are yet to seal the ‘unregistered clinic’ of this fake doctor; the first thing authorities do while executing the rule of law against fake doctors and unregistered clinics. The reason for the same could not be known immediately.
One of the senior officials said that authorities are mulling to lodge a criminal case under law against doctor, for impersonation, cheating and deliberately doing the acts which he knows can cause or is likely to cause death of the patient.
Authorities had given two days time to ‘fake doctor’ in frontier district Kupwara to produce documents, if any, to prove his qualification and registration issued by competent authority. The two days time, given as an opportunity to fake doctor, expired on January 8.
A team of authorities raided the clinic of ‘fake doctor’ on 6 January 2018. The ‘fake doctor’ was not present in the clinic and told authorities that he would produce documents of qualification and registration within two days.
As verified with Office of The Registrar Board of Ayurvedic/ Unani Sowarigpa (AMCHI) Yoga and Naturopathy System of Medicine J&K, in its respond to ANN News e-mail said that the Nazir Ahmad Mir is not registered with them.
Locals said that they have also submitted compliant in Governor’s Grievance Cell and demanded inquiry as how authorities have failed to act and if there was any official who “deliberately” gave blind eye to all for “any personal reason.”
