SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a prominent religious cleric, expressed deep sorrow on Monday over the loss of seven lives in a militant attack in the Gagangir area of Sonamarg, in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

In a post on X, he remarked, “This incident is another grim reminder of the unending cycle of violence and uncertainty we have endured for decades.”

Mirwaiz also offered prayers for the victims. “I pray to Allah for the speedy recovery of the injured and for sabr (patience) to the families of those killed.”
