Exit polls predict landslide victory for PM Modi-led NDA, poised to win over 350 seats

New Delhi, June 01  : Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA alliance is projected to win a majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls that concluded on Saturday, show several exit polls.

The summary of several exit polls projected the PM Modi-led ruling NDA could win more than 350 seats in the 543-member lower house of parliament, where 272 is needed for a simple majority.

The opposition INDIA alliance led by the Congress party was projected to win more than 120 seats.

The NDA won 353 in the 2019 election.

Nearly one billion people were eligible to vote in the marathon seven-phase election that began on April 19. The votes will be counted on June 4.

A victory for Narendra Modi, 73, will make him only the second prime minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to win three consecutive terms. (KNS)
