Srinagar, Sep 15: Amid the ongoing apple crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, Agriculture Minister Javeed Ahmad Dar has reviewed the situation arising out of repeated blockades on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. In an exclusive conversation with ANN News, the minister expressed serious concern over the plight of fruit growers whose trucks remain stranded on the highway for days, causing heavy financial losses.

The minister said he had a detailed meeting with the Lieutenant Governor and strongly urged for the early clearance of stranded apple-laden trucks to ensure that the produce reaches markets on time. “Fruit growers are the backbone of our economy, and their grievances will be taken up with the administration on priority,” he assured.
Dar further emphasized that the government is committed to safeguarding the interests of apple farmers and will take every possible measure to minimize the losses caused by traffic disruptions.
Fruit growers across the Valley have repeatedly complained about delays in transportation during the peak harvest season, warning that such disruptions could affect not only their livelihood but also the state’s economy at large.
With the minister’s intervention and assurance to ANN News, farmers are hopeful that urgent steps will be taken to streamline traffic movement and provide relief to the horticulture sector.
