Engineer ‘caught’ taking bribe in north Kashmir’s Bandipora
Bandipora: Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu and Kashmir on Friday raided the office of executive engineer R&B division Bandipora after complaints of him taking bribe for contractors in Bandipora district.
An official said that the anti-corruption bureau raided the office of Exen R&B Abdul Aziz Bhat after some contractors had lodged complaints against him.
“We had laid a trap after some contractors from Bandipora approached us with the complaints that the said Exen was taking commission for the works they were being allotted in the district. He was caught red-handed taking a bribe of 20, 000 from the contractor,” an official of Anti-corruption bureau told.
He said that the Exen has been taken into custody and further investigation has been taken up. He said that the team was headed by DySP Anti-Corruption Bureau Nazir Ahmad.
