Encounter started in Shopian village

Shopian: Encounter breaks out between government forces and militants at Melhoora village in Shopian district in South Kashmir.

According to reports, 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in this encounter.

Earlier, government forces including J&K Police and Army’s 55 RR had launched cordon and search operation in Melhoora village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Firing was going on when reports last came in.
