Encounter breaks out in Kulgam Village

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — An encounter breaks out between security forces and militants at Adigam village in Devsar area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir on Saturday morning.

Reports said, a joint team of security forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Adigam village in Kulgam district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

They said, as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

Sources said that 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the encounter. The encounter was going on when the reports last came in. — (KIMS)
