Employees attached for participating in Mehbooba’s rally, inquiry going on: DEO
Srinagar: District Election Officer Pulwama has ordered inquiry into the participation of officials in an election rally conducted by Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti in the southern Kashmir district on April 24.
“DEO Pulwama has initiated action into it,” Shaleen Kabra, the Chief Election Officer J&K, told GNS.
“We have ordered an inquiry yesterday and the inquiry is being conducted by nodal officer, modal code of conduct,” the DEO Pulwama Syed Abid Rashid Shah told GNS, adding, “Names of four employees surfaced so far and one of them has reportedly resigned in 2012 while those working with J&K bank and others have been attached.” The inquiry officer has given them two days to file response to the show cause notice issued to them by him. “They will be charge-sheeted if found guilty,’ he said.
On April 24, several government and JK Bank employees besides SPOs working with the police department were spotted at a gathering by Mehbooba Mufti at Town Hall Pulwama. The government employees spotted in the rally are working with Animal husbandry, education department and other departments. (GNS)
