Earlier, on 08 February a no-confidence motion was moved against the incumbent President of the MC Aishmuqam Abdul Waheed Bhat by nine councilors against the total of thirteen members.
Meanwhile, the councilors who had moved the no-confidence motion against the incumbent President have expressed apprehensions of horse-trading and are demanding early elections.
One of the councilors, Sofi Arafat, told KDC that they have apprehensions that opposition is trying to play the delay tactics so that they can succeed in horse-trading.
“They are trying to defer the elections for horse-trading & to gain the support from other councilors. Otherwise, we all set to win as statutory powers and numbers are with us,” he added. (KDC)
