Education in Kashmir Set for Transformation as KSF Rolls Out Landmark Reforms

Srinagar, Oct 2, 2025 – The Kashmir School Federation (KSF) has unveiled a series of landmark initiatives designed to strengthen the Valley’s educational landscape, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, women’s empowerment, and grassroots participation.

In a first for the organization, Smt. Saima Firdous has been appointed as the first female President of the KSF, a move widely hailed as a milestone in the federation’s journey and a step forward for women’s leadership in Kashmir’s education sector.

Underscoring its commitment to gender equality, the KSF also announced a 40% reservation for women in organizational posts, ensuring that female voices play a decisive role in policy-making and educational reforms.

Further widening its scope, the KSF will now include madrasas, Darul Ulooms, and registered coaching centers under its umbrella. Officials said this inclusion would enable students from diverse backgrounds to access better mentorship, resources, and support systems.

At the grassroots level, the federation has constituted District Conveners and District Body members to implement its programs more effectively across Kashmir. These representatives will serve as the link between local institutions and the central body, ensuring that the reforms reach students in every district.
