DSEK Warns Of Action Against Private Schools For Operating During Winter Vacations

Srinagar: The directorate of school education Kashmir (DSEK) has warned the private schools in the summer capital of de-recognition for violating government order for winter vacations.

A circular in this regard was issued after parents complained against some private schools here for violating government order on winter vacations.

“The directorate has been consistently receiving complaints from parents that some private schools are still continuing their classes up to 8th standard in violation of rules,” reads the circular signed by director school education Kashmir G N Itoo.

The J&K government on 29th November announced winter vacations for government and private recognized schools in Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division.

According to the order, winter vacations for classes up to eighth standard commenced from 6th December while as for classes from 9th standard onwards, will observe winter vacation from 17 November.

However, some private schools here in violation of rules continue their classes of students KG to Class 6th causing inconvenience for the school going children.

The private schools have been reprimanded for violating government instructions and have been directed to follow government orders in letter and spirit without any breach.

“Strict action will be taken as per the provisions of the law in case any school is found involved in violating the orders. The action may include de-recognition of the educational institution,” reads the circular.
