Drug Peddler arrested in Pulwama, contraband substance recovered: Police

Pulwama, Mar 14: Acting against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas-like substance during naka checking in Litter. A police party from Police Station Litter was performing naka duty at Rakh Litter and checking pedestrians and vehicles.

During checking, a person carrying a blue coloured polythene bag was seen approaching from Litter towards Rakh Litter on foot. On noticing the police party, the person attempted to flee from the spot, which raised suspicion.

The police party acted swiftly and apprehended the individual. During checking of the polythene bag in his possession, a charas-like substance was recovered. The accused was identified as Nawaz Ahmad Khan S/O Gull Mohammad Khan, resident of Wachi, Shopian.

Accordingly, FIR No. 29/2026 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation has been taken up.
