Drug peddler arrested in Pulwama, Contraband recovered
Pulwama, April 7: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug menace, Pulwama Police achieved a major success during naka checking at Chewekalan.
A naka party of Police Post Newa, while performing routine checking, intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Gh Hassan Wani S/o Ab Razaq Wani R/o Chewekalan. During search, the individual was found carrying a nylon bag, which upon checking led to the recovery of approximately 2 kg 300 grams of contraband substance (poppy straw).
The recovered substance was seized on the spot after completing all legal formalities as per procedure. The accused has been taken into custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 49/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been taken up.
Pulwama Police reiterates its commitment to eradicate the drug menace and urges the general public to come forward with any information related to drug peddling in their areas.
