Srinagar, April 16: Former RAW Chief A.S. Dulat has refuted claims suggesting that Dr. Farooq Abdullah supported the abrogation of Article 370, calling such interpretations a complete distortion of the facts presented in his latest book, The Chief Minister and The Spy.
In an exclusive interview with ANN News, Dulat expressed concern over how excerpts from his book have been misrepresented in sections of the media.

“Someone has taken the content from the book out of proportion and blown it out of context,” he said.
He categorically dismissed the notion that National Conference leader had any role in endorsing the constitutional move that stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status in August 2019.
“People should read the book—read every page, every word. Dr. Farooq Abdullah would have never agreed to or backed the abrogation of Article 370,” Dulat said while replying to a query.
Describing Dr. Farooq as a pivotal political figure, Dulat said, “He is a leader who can bridge the gap between Delhi and Kashmir.”
The clarification comes amid a flurry of reports quoting Dulat’s book as suggesting that Dr. Farooq Abdullah had quietly supported the revocation of Article 370.
The reports sparked sharp reactions across political circles in Kashmir with opposition leaders seeking clarification from the National Conference.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who has repeatedly denounced the abrogation and vowed to fight for its restoration, responded to media reports terming them ‘bag of lies and baseless’ and those close to him have termed the allegations baseless.
