Double storey residential house gutted in Massive fire incident in Gund

Ganderbal: A double storey residential house was completely damaged in a massive fire incident at Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Reports said that on Tuesday flames emerged from a residential house of Senior journalist and Member of Ganderbal Press Association Sheikh Anees son of Mehrajudin Sheikh resident of Sheikh Mohalla Gund.

An official said Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames,” he said, adding that the residential house got damaged till the fire was brought under control, local police, CRPF, Army, SDRF and locals were also present on the spot.

The cause of the fire was being ascertained, he said.

Locals urged the government to provide compensation to the affected family, as the property worth lakhs was burnt into ashes.

In this harsh winter, the government should compensate the family.
