Dist admin Srinagar sets up three special quarantine centres in view of Omicron outbreak
International tourists to undergo 8-hour mandatory quarantine, to be shifted to DRDO hospital Srinagar if tested positive.
Srinagar, Dec 1: District administration Srinagar has set up three special quarantine centers for international tourists in the wake of the outbreak of new Coronavirus variant Omicron, officials said Wednesday.
Quoting the officials, news agency KNO reported that Marriage hall at Sanantnagar area of city and two hotels with all the requisite facilities have been designated as quarantine centers for the purpose.
After undergoing COVID testing at the Srinagar airport, international travelers will have to stay for eight hours mandatory quarantine at these centers, an official said.
He said in case any traveler tests positive for COVID-19, he/she will be shifted to DRDO COVID hospital for special treatment.
Kashmir is all set to witness international tourist arrival in the wake of onset of winter and the subsequent activities by the tourism department including adventure tourism.
