Dish TV India launches Watcho app:
Dish TV has launched its own app called Watcho which brings several OTT platforms . The app will offer OTT content from platforms like Disney+Hotstar, ZEE5, Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, Hungama Play, EpicOn, Chaupal, Klikk and Oho .
To enjoy content from the aforementioned platforms, all you need to do is subscribe to Watcho.
the app also has more than a hundred live channels.
Users can watch content either from the mobile app or the Watcho website. Currently, the Dish TV backed service has four plans which offer access to different OTT platforms.
The rise of Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms brought a gradual downfall of linear TVs over the past decade. Consumers can watch their favorite content, on-demand and ad-free for an affordable subscription fee. This growing popularity of OTT content paved the way for many large media houses to build their own OTT platforms and monetize their content with different monetization models. However, the multitude of OTT platforms led to subscription fatigue among consumers who are now willing to watch ad-supported content if it’s free.
