DGP J&K Visits Family of Kirti Chakra Awardee Martyr DSP Humayun Muzamil Bhat, Pays Tribute to His Legacy

DGP J&K Sh R.R. Swain, accompanied by the Chairperson of the J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Prof. Rasmita Das Swain, and IGP Kashmir Sh. V.K. Birdhi, visited Ms. Fatima Humayun, wife of Kirti Chakra awardee martyr DSP, Sh. Humayun Muzamil Bhat, along with their young son. The visit was a gesture of solidarity and remembrance for the brave officer who laid down his life in the line of duty.

 

 

 

 

During the visit, DGP Swain and his colleagues paid glowing tributes to DSP Humayun, recalling him as a rare combination of fortitude and kindness. He was remembered as a dedicated officer who balanced his professional responsibilities with an unwavering commitment to his family and the people of Kashmir. In their reflections, the officers noted that Humayun’s legacy goes beyond his mortal life; he will forever be celebrated as a martyr whose spirit lives on.

 

 

 

 

 

“Humayun, the mortal is no more, but long live Humayun, the martyr,” said DGP Swain, emphasizing that Humayun’s sacrifice represents the ultimate commitment of all policemen who serve with valor and dedication. He stressed that while time may erode many things, it cannot diminish the affection and respect that binds the ‘living’ with the ‘fallen’ in the J&K Police.

 

 

 

 

The visit concluded with a message of unity and resilience: “Long live ‘The family’,” a sentiment that extends not just to Humayun’s immediate family, but to the broader family of the J&K Police, where the bonds of respect and remembrance remain unbreakable despite the passage of time.

 

 

 

The J&K Police continues to honor the sacrifices of its members, reinforcing the spirit of service and dedication that defines their role in safeguarding the peace and security of the region.
