In the world democracy index 2023, Pakistan has been placed with the countries of the world where the authoritarian system of government is prevalent. The prevailing systems of government have been reviewed and classified on that basis.

In this list of 2022, Pakistan was ranked 105th and Pakistan’s system of government was called “hybrid” i.e. mixed system of government. It has reached the th place.

Last year, Pakistan’s democracy score was 4-13, which has decreased to 3-25 in 2023. According to this list, Pakistan has moved out of the hybrid government and joined the list of authoritarian countries.

The report also defines such countries as countries where fair and transparent elections are not held, media is not free and personal freedoms are restricted. Judiciary is not independent in countries, there are democratic institutions here, but their importance is negligible.

The report also explains the reasons for including Pakistan among countries with authoritarian regimes and states that one party in Pakistan was put under constant pressure before the elections, due to which many of its members were forced to leave the party. And his political activities were affected.

In the democracy index, neighboring country India is number 41, America, Brazil, Indonesia and India have been put in the category of weak democracy, this category is of countries where transparent elections are held, but there are problems in the democratic system there.
