DDC Shopian inaugurates orientation prog on PSDMP

SHOPIAN JULY 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian,   Dr Owais Ahmed today inaugurated a day-long orientation programme on “Preparation of School Disaster Management Plan (PSDMP)” in the district here at Arhama.

          The programme was organized by Chief Education Office Shopian in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Kashmir.

          Among other, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Shabir Hussain Bhat, representative from Directorate of School Education, Chief Education Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer, All Zonal Education Officers,  heads of all educational institutions and other concerned.

          Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that it has been proven that during disasters, schools and school children are the most affected. To reduce this vulnerability, particularly for schools, it is important to have a School Disaster Management Plan. Schools, if better prepared for disasters, can also play a lead role in the community in responding to disasters, he said.
