DDC Anantnag Reviews Winter Preparedness Arrangements
ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 29: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today convened a meeting of officers and engineers to review winter preparedness in the district.
Regarding snow clearance, the DC directed the Executive Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department, Anantnag to submit a detailed action plan with regard to total road length to be cleared by the department. He further said that roads leading to health facilities and major connecting roads must be prioritized in the plan.
The Executive Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department Anantnag informed the meeting that 1303 Km road length will be cleared by the said division during the ensuing winter.
The Ex. Engineers of R&B, PMGSY, NHIDCL, EOs of MCs were directed to frame the list of roads to be cleared by them and share the details among the line departments so that every department will be liable for the clearance of their respective roads.
The Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti Department Qazigund and Bijbehara were asked to submit the detailed plan for DG Sets, Fuel and other equipments to ensure regular drinking water supply and keep tankers road worthy during winter season, while KPDCL was asked to submit action plan of transformers needed under buffer stock, conductors, LT/HT Polls besides decentralization of buffer stock of transformers so that minimum time is spent in replacement and to carry out early restoration of damages if any.
The DDC directed CMO Anantnag to ensure the availability of medicines, heating arrangements in the hospitals and required healthcare facilities. He directed the CMO to ensure that no healthcare facility is unmanned or understaffed, particularly those in far flung areas. He also stressed on stationing ambulances tactically so that healthcare can be immediately provided when required.
The EOs of MCs were asked to submit an action plan for water logging and road clearance in urban areas besides keeping men and machinery ready to meet any eventuality.
The AD, FCS&CA was directed to stock all edible items, gas cylinders, k. oil and other necessary commodities well before onset of winter season particularly in remote areas. He was directed to ensure regular market checks to control the overcharging, hoarding, black marketing etc.
DC said that district and sub divisional level control rooms should be constituted and helpline numbers circulated among the public. He stressed on responsive governance and directed all departments to ensure that grievances raised by people are resolved in a time bound.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, CMO, Engineers of Jal Shakti, PMGSY, KPDCL, M&ED, NHICDL, EOs of MCs and other officers of concerned line departments.
