DC Ramban sets 10 day deadline for disposal of pending FRA claims

RAMBAN, MAY 30:  Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, who is also the Chairperson of the District Level Committee for Forest Right Act (FRA), today chaired a meeting   to review the   implementation of FRA and related measures for expeditious disposal of the claims.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer, Ramban Dr. Rajan Singh, while DDC Councilor Gool Sakhi Mohd,  SDM  Gool Gias -Ul-Haq, SDM Banihal Zaheer Abass and SDM Ramsoo Vikar Giri besides other committee members joined the meeting through virtual mode.

The Deputy Commissioner set the 10 day deadline for all Sub Divisional Level Committees (SDLCs) for disposal of applications received by them under different provisions of FRA.

The Deputy Commissioner Ramban asked the Chairpersons SDLCs to dispose of the pending cases within 10 days. He also asked them to conduct regular meetings with FRC members and extend fu;; cooperation   to them in verification of the claims.

The meeting discussed in detail the measures to be taken to dispose-of the claims, ensure effective working of the Committee constituted under FRA and other issues. The DC impressed upon the Committee members to ensure thorough verification of the claims as per guidelines and for submitting the claims received so far to DLCs after verification.

On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion on different aspects of the Act was held wherein the concerned officers   briefed the DC about the current status and other related necessities with regard to its implementation at grassroots level.
