DC Poonch discusses special Summary Revision with political representatives

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet discussed the activities under Special Summary Revision with political party representatives regarding Special summary revision of electoral rolls.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; Deputy Election Officer, Gurpinder Singh; SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan; SDM Surankote, Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti; Election Naib Tehsildar, Zulfkar Malik, besides district president, representatives of political parties.

The meeting discussed the process regarding Special Summary Revision 2022.

The DDC directed the EROs and AEROs to work in close coordination and carry out maximum enrolment.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the political leaders, EROs & AEROs to create awareness in coordination with   Panchs, Sarpanchs  about registration as electorate. “Any person of 18 years is to be enrolled as an elector in the Electoral Roll” he added.

 The meeting was told that the Summary Revision was scheduled  to start on September  15, 2022  and continue till October 25, 2022  and people  can  file  their  claims  and  objections  in  the   Electoral roll to  rectify  or  enter  their  names.

 Special camps at Polling Stations will be  held  on September 24, 2022 (Saturday), 25.09.2022( Sunday), 01.10 2022(Saturday), October 2, 2022 (Sunday), October 15 10, 2022(Saturday) and October 16, 2022 (Sunday). Disposal  of  claims  and  objections  shall  be  done by November 10, 2022  and  the final    Electoral  Roll  will  be  published on November 25.

The Deputy Commissioner urged  the  political   representatives  to  appoint  their  Booth  level  Agents  and  provide the  list  of the same  to  his  office.
