DC Kupwara visits Check-i-Keegam

Offers condolences to bereaved families; provides immediate relief under DRCF

Gave directions for augmentation of water supply, irrigation facilities

KUPWARA, MAY 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today visited Check-i-Keegam in Kupwara district to offer condolences to the bereaved families who lost their members on May 13 while cleaning a well.

On the occasion, Khalid Jahangir interacted with the family members of all deceased and expressed his grief over the unfortunate incident. He also expressed his condolences and sympathy with the bereaved families and assured them all possible support from district administration.

The DC provided immediate relief to next of kin of the deceased persons under District Red Cross Fund (DRCF).

It is also pertinent to mention that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara; ADC Kupwara had also visited the bereaved families yesterday, besides, other officers from administration including ACR Kupwara and Tehsildar.

The last rites of the deceased were performed under the supervision of ACR Kupwara.

Later, the DC also met the senior citizens of the village who projected their demands including provision of Health Centre, augmentation of water supply and irrigation facilities.

The DC heard them patiently and assured that their demands will be resolved on priority basis.

The DC issued directions to SE Hydraullic and CMO Kupwara to take necessary steps on immediate basis.
