DC Kupwara chairs Annual Day function at GHSS Kupwara
Says education top most priority of district administration
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 15: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today said that Education sector is the top most priority of District Administration Kupwara adding that various innovative programmes have been introduced to improve the Education system in the district, following the directions of LG Administration.
The Deputy Commissioner said this while addressing a colourful Annual Day function at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kupwara, here today. Principal Womens College Kupwara, Fayaz Ahmad Lone; Principal GHSS Kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Shah, Principal BHSS Nagri Malpora, Ghulam Ahmad Peer, DIO Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, BDO Nutnussa, Amina Latief, besides, teaching faculty and a large number of students attended the function.
The Deputy Commissioner said that education is not confined to academic exercise only but it contains extra curricular activities which develop the life and personality of an individual. He urged upon the students to vigorously participate in co-curricular activities and try to explore their hidden talent. He assured all possible support from District Administration for any kind of help to the students.
He said as many as 6000 teachers have vigorously implemented the ZIMADARI programme and revolutionized the education sector of the district.
Encouraging girl students, the Deputy Commissioner said that half of the DDC Council seats have been occupied by female councilors which is a positive sign of development in the district. He asked students to make their goals and follow them with perseverance and consistency.
He cited the example of the President of India which is the highest seat of Indian democracy and said that this position is held by a lady belonging to a humble background adding that girls are not less than boys in any sphere of life.
On the occasion, BDO Nutnussa, Amina Latief who is a JKAS Officer and was an alumni of the same school spoke on the occasion and shared her experience with the students.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the school canteen and inspected Chemistry block of the school. He also took the round of entire school area.
Later, cultural programmes and other activities were performed by the students.
