DC Kulgam reviews implementation status of  Amrit Sarovar initiative in district

KULGAM, MAY 21: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress made in implementation status of Amrit Sarovar initiative in the district.

         It was informed in the meeting that this initiative is an endeavour to rejuvenate water bodies and under this initiative, 75 water bodies will be developed and rejuvenated in the district.

During the meeting, ACD Kulgam, Mohammad Imran Khan informed the chair that so far 18 water bodies have been identified in the district.

         The DC instructed  concerned officers of RDD, Soil Conservation, Forest, Panchayat and other allied departments to scale up the process of identification of other water bodies so that all 75 water bodies can be developed and rejuvenated under the Amrit Sarovar initiative.

         The meeting was attended by ADDC, JD-Planning, ACR, ACD, DPO, DFO, BDOs and other officers.
