DC Anantnag reviews arrangements for Maha Shivratri festival
ANANTNAG, MARCH 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF.Hamid today chaired a comprehensive meeting to meticulously review the arrangements for the celebration of upcoming festival of Maha Shivratri in the district.
During the meeting, the DC issued directions to various departments to ensure the seamless execution of all essential arrangements for the community during the festival. He instructed concerned departments to ensure the availability of essentials for the community.
He highlighted the need for ensuring an ample supply of fish, vegetables, including Lotus Stems (Nadroo), spinach, walnut, cheese, and other basic necessities such as LPG cylinders, K-oil, rice, sugar, and flour.
Moreover, he stressed the importance of uninterrupted water and electricity supply in all areas predominantly inhabited by the Pandit community to enhance the festival experience for the community. Fisheries department were also directed to deploy fish-carrying mobile vans in Pandit Community areas of the district.
In addition to this, the Floriculture Department was directed to ensure an abundant supply of flowers at prominent locations.
Simultaneously, the Municipality and Rural Development Department were tasked with conducting sanitation drives in and around temples where major congregations are expected during the festive days.
The Food Safety department has been directed to conduct thorough market checks in all major markets of the district to ensure the quality and safety of food products during the festival.
Furthermore, the Executive Engineer, Power Development Department was instructed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, and the Jal Shakti department was directed to ensure adequate drinking water facilities at all venues to prevent any inconvenience to the devotees.
DC expressed confidence that these measures would contribute to a joyous and hassle-free celebration of Maha Shivratri for the entire community.
The meeting was attended by all sectoral heads.
