Day 2: Searches continue to retrieve body of 12-yr-old boy from Jhelum in Sopore
Sopore: For the second consecutive day, the authorities continued search operation to retrieve the body of a 12-year-old boy, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) a 12-year-old boy, who was a class 8th student and identified as Shahid Nazir Changal, son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahadbab crossing, jumped into the river from bypass bridge on Wednesday.
The Joint team of Sopore Police, SDRF and locals boat men continued the search operation to retrieve the body from river Jhelum in Sopore.
Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Sopore, Azim Iqbal told KNO the search operation was stopped yesterday due to darkness and started this morning again.
“Efforts are on to retrieve the body from the river,” he said, adding that that a case has already been registered and further investigation has been initiated. (KNO)
