D Chowk tragedy, journalistic hypocrisy of Pakistani media, scenario of the past
Syed Umer Gardezi (Islamabad)
Until a few years ago, impartiality was prominent in BBC Urdu’s reporting. Then after Tehreek-e-Insaaf emerged on the national scene, anti-PTI framing and angling started appearing in its news. Let’s start with the BBC’s coverage of the Sahiwal tragedy. The picture of the then Prime Minister Imran Khan was prominently displayed in the main stories covering this tragic tragedy. Other news related to the Sahiwal tragedy also published pictures of then government officials which seemed to be journalistically correct.
It happens that these people were responsible for protecting the parents of orphaned children. But… on the other hand, in the news so far related to the tragedy of D Chowk, neither the picture of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif nor the Minister of Interior or Minister of Information was seen playing on the front foot.
The main emphasis of the side stories is ‘PTI’s controversial decisions and missing leadership’ instead of finding answers to important questions like ‘Who gave the order to shoot?’ And ‘first they don’t let you come now they don’t let you go’ went towards the sarcastic angles. The responsibility of investigative reporting was fulfilled by visiting the crime scene and the hospital. However, an ‘unprecedented’ investigation of the incident of throwing down the worker who was praying on the container was done. The prevailing principle of journalism is to find the answer to the most important question like ‘What actually happened?’ Eyewitnesses are interviewed. In cases where clear video footage is available, asking the eyewitness ‘what really happened?’ is seen as an attempt to put a different spin on the matter. The eyewitness who sought it out put the scene beyond what was visible to all, “At that time three, four Rangers arrived there and tried to arrest the man. When he did not come to them, The Rangers pushed it (the person) a little and then it went down. “Anyone who has seen this footage can accept the misguided interpretation of ‘it didn’t come to them’?” Bock but unbiased reviews When it comes to Imran Khan, some of the BBC’s articles show uncontrollable audacity, but it also seems to be dancing on it for many years The well-known journalist Asma Shirazi, who writes ‘Tajzia’ on BBC Urdu, is constantly targeting Tehreek-e-Insaf and Imran Khan CK editors also his If the criticism of Imran Khan is removed from most of the articles, there will be a blank page behind. Asma Shirazi, a well-known and well-known anchor lady known as Sarkari Hajan, who is considered very loyal to the PML-N, an important operation of her ‘analysis’ on the BBC. It was to show Imran Khan with military officers and prove him as a tool of the military establishment. The PDM government probably came into existence purely by the votes of public representatives who could not find moral justification to write such a thing about them. They did not express their opinion on the action of PDM, but PML-N and especially Maryam. After Nawaz’s formal entry into politics, articles for his ‘image building’ must have been adorning the BBC. in glory Published such an article of Qaseeds that perhaps even a PR firm would have felt ashamed to print. There used to be an Adil Gilani of Transparency International.
He was said to blindly issue a transparency certificate to every project of the PML-N. In 2015, he was appointed as a consultant to the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission. After that he was gifted appointment as Pakistani Ambassador to Serbia. It is unfortunate for Pakistan that we don’t have adequate people to monitor corruption, nor can international media organizations maintain their neutrality here.
They are all silent on the brutality happening in Aaj D Chowk. Shame on hypocrisy. I feel sad that journalism has lost its complete quality and whenever the PML-N government comes, this hypocritical behavior comes to the fore. Politics is also brought to the fore on the arrests of journalists. Ever since bad times have come to Tehreek-e-Insaf, the media has played an openly hypocritical role, the only reason being that during Imran Khan’s tenure, the media was not blindly rewarded for advertisements and the PML-N or the People’s Party They keep the media shut with tax money. The media has become a slave to money while forgetting journalistic values and traditions.
As much as the Pakistani media and pro PML-N journalists hide the apocalyptic bloody scenario of D Chowk, it is not going to be hidden anymore because the world has seen the truth and the international media is amazed at the hypocrisy of our media.
The blood of the martyrs of D Chowk will also remain on the heads of our hypocritical Pakistani media who, like the people of Kufa, remained silent after seeing everything, but kept making fun of them along with the oppressors. Time is not a sign of anyone, a lamp has never belonged to a single person, many lamps have been extinguished when the direction of the wind changes. This time will soon pass for the relatives of the victims of D Chowk, but the fate of the oppressor is also clear in the sight of Allah.
A flock of vulture-like birds was seen hovering over D Chowk on the day after the operation against Tehreek-e-Insaf workers in Islamabad. All scavenging vulture species are almost extinct in Pakistan. In the desert region of Sindh, Nangar Parkar and Chhanga Manga near Lahore, the breeding of baby Vultures is being done. Since the center of power Islamabad is far away from these two centers, certain politicians have filled the gap of vultures here.
These vultures like human corpses, but if these corpses are of Tehreek-e-Insaf workers, they close their eyes. The heart of these vultures was that the dead bodies of the security forces should be available in D Chowk and they could do their political breeding on the account of these dead bodies, but their wish could not be fulfilled and they were met with regrets. These are the vultures whose fortunes were brightened by the May 9 protest. Each member of these vultures, from the king to the pawn, when he senses the retreat of his clan, instantly energizes himself by scratching the corpse of the 9th of May.
Look at this old political vulture Irfan Siddique’ s Statement againt PTI Victims. When the required bodies were not available from D Chowk, the ” Pentra changed ” and started to fan the sparks of a new confrontation. This old political vulture knows very well that his and his master’s survival lies in scratching the body of Tehreek-e-Insaaf and that body is only possible if the protest against oppression is also given a favorable color to further provoke the powerful.
