CRPF Trooper Injured In Militant Attack At Newa, Pulwama
JeM claims responsibility, says killed two paramilitary men in sniper attack
Srinagar: A paramilitary CRPF man was injured in a militant attack at Newa area of Pulwama in south Kashmir late last night.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Pulwama, Chandan Kholi told GNS that militants lobbed a grenade and followed it with firing on CRPF camp at Newa last night. “The fire was retaliated by the troops and in the brief exchange of fire, one CRPF personal sustained injuries”
The injured was taken to nearby district hospital from where he was shifted to army’s 92 base hospital where his condition is said to be stable, Kholi said.
Meanwhile, Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the attack saying the outfit has started the process to avenge the killing of “commander Ali and other martyrs”.
“Our cadres carried out the sniper attack at 12:35 am and killed two CRPF men,” the spokesman said, adding this is beginning of the process to avenge the killing of commander Ali and other martyrs.” (GNS)
