CRPF Cup 2023 Srinagar Sector T20 Challenge Kicks Off with Enthusiastic Start

Srinagar, October 23 : The CRPF Cup 2023 Srinagar Sector T20 Challenge commenced with great fervor today, heralding the beginning of an exciting cricket spectacle. Shri Ajay Kumar Yadav, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Srinagar, inaugurated the tournament in a soft launch, paving the way for the grand opening at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium on 25th October 2023.

The prestigious tournament showcases the talent of 20 prominent cricket teams from Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal regions. Shri Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, lauded the local teams for their passionate involvement, highlighting the region’s deep-rooted love for cricket. He emphasized CRPF’s dedication to nurturing young talent and the positive impact of sports on character development.

The Inspector General encouraged fair play, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for the game among the participating teams. The inaugural match witnessed a remarkable victory by Kashmir Tigers over Rainawari Wonderboys Club, Lal Chowk, while HMT Reds triumphed over Friends Cricket Club, Nowhatta, in a closely contested battle.

Matches will be played in four groups at different venues over the next nine days, promising thrilling cricket action. Professional referees and scorekeepers are ensuring fair play and accuracy in all matches.
