Criminal evading in murder case from two yeyears arrested in Jammu

Jammu — In a crackdown on criminals and gangsters, Police arrested a wanted criminal who had been evading arrest for the past two years in the Bishnah area of Jammu district, police said on Sunday.

“In one of the major successes for Jammu Police, a team from Police Station Bishnah, led by SHO Bishnah Sh. Sushil Choudhary and supervised by SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, successfully apprehended wanted criminal Surjan Sansi, son of Tilak Raj, a resident of Rehal, Bishnah,” police said in a statement.

“Surjan Sansi is a history-sheeter and a notorious criminal/gangster wanted in multiple cases, including his involvement in the Akshey murder case registered at Police Station Ramgarh, Samba,” the statement said.

“He had been on the run for the past two years, but due to persistent efforts and strategic operations by Jammu Police, he has finally been taken into custody,” the statement added.

Further legal proceedings are underway. — (KIMS)
