Crime Branch presents charge-sheet against fraudster for duping youth for Govt jobs

JAMMU: Crime Branch Jammu has produced supplementary charge-sheet against a fraudster for luring and duping youth on pretext of providing Government jobs.

As per an official spokesperson of investigating agency, the sleuths of Crime Branch Jammu produced charge-sheet against accused Ashok Kumar (now expired), son of Jabru Ram, resident of Allah, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu in a case registered vide FIR No. 11/2019 under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in duping complainant and other unemployed youth fraudulently, in league with other co-accused fraudsters, to the tune of Rs 12 lakh after inducing and luring them on pretext of providing Government jobs in MES Hqrs Srinagar.

The official further said that a preliminary charge-sheet of case has already been produced against co-accused namely Pawan Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar, resident of H.No-730 lane No.03 Last Matadoor Stand Bhagwati Nagar, at present H.No-328 Lane No 3 Lakshmi Nagar, Bohri Talab Tillo and Sarup Lal, son of Manga Ram, resident of H.No-75 Ward No.04 Rajiv Colony Bari-Brahmana District Samba in the Court of law for judicial determination on April 4, 2020.

Giving details of the case, the official said that a written complaint was lodged by complainants namely Makhan Singh, son of Munshi Ram, resident of Village Batoli Patair, Billawar District Kathua; Ranjit Singh, son of Shamsher Singh, resident of Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur; Sunil Singh, son of Padam Dev Singh, resident of Ramnagar District Udhampur and Rakesh Kumar, son of Sham Lal, resident of District Udhampur, alleging therein that aforementioned accused illegally extorted huge sum of Rs. 12.50 lakh fraudulently from them (complainants) on pretext of providing job in MES Hqrs Srinagar on November 30, 2015 and handed-over fake appointment orders to the them, as at joining time neither any record was found at MES Headquarters Srinagar, nor any such letters were issued.

Acting on the complaint, the Crime Branch Jammu initiated criminal proceedings against accused by registering the instant case for the omissions and commissions on the part of accused, which prima facie, constituted offences punishable under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC. During course of investigation, authentication of appointment letters from the concerned MES Department was sought, which were found false & fabricated.

Thus, allegations against accused persons making false and forged documents using them as genuine for purpose of cheating gullible unemployed youth were proved against them.

It has been established that accused, after hatching criminal conspiracy cheated complainants by forging documents to treat them as genuine with criminal intention of causing wrongful gain to themselves and wrongful loss to the complainants, he added.
