Counter Intelligence Kashmir Files Charge Sheet in Pakistan-Backed Terror Recruitment Case
Srinagar, October 25, 2025:
In a major crackdown on Pakistan-sponsored online terror recruitment networks, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has filed a charge sheet before the Court of Special Judge (NIA Act), Srinagar, in FIR No. 07/2023 under sections 153-A, 505, 506 IPC, and 13, 18, 18-B, 39 UAPA against terrorist associate Aadil Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan (@Gull Khan), a resident of Drien Qazigund, Anantnag.
According to officials, the accused had been running a digital recruitment network through Facebook and Twitter, aimed at radicalizing youth and glorifying terrorism. His social media content was allegedly aligned with the narrative of Pakistan-based terror outfits, especially Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other proscribed organizations.
The investigation was launched after credible information surfaced indicating that elements based in Pakistan were using social media platforms to lure Kashmiri youth into joining terrorist ranks and inciting them to wage war against India.
During the course of the investigation, three individuals had already been charge-sheeted earlier:
- Waseem Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Kandoora Budgam
- Junaid Ahmad Mir, son of Late Ab. Jabbar Mir, resident of Tikkipora Lolab
- Shabir Ahmad Gojri, son of Ab. Salam, resident of Darbagh Harwan, Srinagar
Further investigation revealed the active role of Aadil Ahmad Khan, who was found disseminating pro-terror content, glorifying violence, and promoting anti-national sentiments online. Officials said Khan not only ran online radicalization campaigns but also facilitated the recruitment process on the ground, linking potential recruits to handlers across the border.
CIK officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to identify and dismantle the broader online terror ecosystem, including handlers, sympathizers, and digital facilitators operating within and outside Jammu and Kashmir. More arrests and disclosures are expected in the coming weeks.
This latest action highlights the commitment of Counter Intelligence Kashmir and the J&K Police to fight both physical and digital terror networks, safeguarding the youth of the Valley from exploitation by Pakistan-backed propaganda machinery.
