Corona lockdown extended across J&K till May 17

SRINAGAR (KIMS) – The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Sunday announced the extension of corona lockdown till 05:00 am on (Monday) May 17 across Union Territory due to worsening Covid-19 situation.

The essential services will continue to remain functional.

Further, the gatherings permissible for marriages has been reduced to 25 persons only from today onwards.

The lockdown was scheduled to end on May 10 but due to sharp spike in Covid-19 cases the Union Territory administration extended lockdown for one week till May 17.

Department of Information and Public Relations, Govt of J&K in a tweet said, “Corona Curfew imposed in all 20 districts of J&K till 7 am on Monday, 10/5/21 is extended further by 7 days till 7 am on Monday, 17/5/21. The curfew will be strict except for a few essential services.”

“Further, the gathering permissible for marriages is reduced to 25 only w.e.f. today, 9/5/21,” it added.

Pertinently it is to mention that Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is witnessing sharp spike in Covid-19 cases and deaths from last one week. – (KIMS)
