Conmen Given Free Run, Journalists Arrested For Speaking Truth In Kashmir: Mehbooba Mufti
SRINAGAR — While criticizing the arrest of journalist Irfan Mehraj by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Srinagar, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said conmen are given free run in Kashmir while journalists are arrested for speaking truth.
She said, draconian laws like the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act or UAPA are being abused constantly to ensure that the process itself becomes the punishment.

Journalist Irfan Mehraj of Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in an alleged militancy-related case. According to NIA, it arrested Mehraj in connection with an NGO-militancy case. — (KIMS)
