Bommai to resign as CM today evening
CM Basavaraj Bommai has conceded defeat, saying the BJP’s performance was not up to the mark, despite the best efforts of everyone from the PM to cadres. All eyes on whom the Congress will pick as CM.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, “Nafrat ki baazar band ho gayi hai, mohabbat ki dukaan khul gayi hai.” (Market of hatred has shut down, shop of love has opened). The Congress — which has so far won or is leading in as many as 135 seats — is ahead of the BJP in all regions of the state except in coastal Karnataka.
