Closing Ceremony, Prize Distribution Under Civic Action Programme Held at Uri Playground

Uri, Dec 16: The 185 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) organised cricket and volleyball tournaments at Uri playground from December 11 to 15, 2025, under the Civic Action Programme. The closing ceremony and prize distribution were held on December 15 at the same venue.

The event was graced by DIG Sector Headquarters BSF Baramulla, Dhirender Singh Sindhu, along with Commandant 185 Battalion BSF, Rakesh Kumar.

Addressing the gathering, the DIG lauded the sportsmanship and enthusiasm displayed by the participating teams. He underlined the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and physical fitness among youth, and encouraged young players to actively engage in sports and other constructive activities for their overall development.

The final matches of both cricket and volleyball witnessed keen competition among local village teams. Village Salamabad emerged winners in both events, defeating Village Jabla in cricket and Village Kalgai in volleyball. The enthusiastic participation and lively atmosphere contributed to the success of the programme.

As part of the Civic Action Programme, cricket kits, volleyballs, nets and sports shoes with socks were distributed among the participating teams to promote continued involvement in sports. The event concluded with the presentation of trophies and prizes, followed by a vote of thanks.
