Civilian injured in border shelling in Uri
Srinagar, March 26: Pakistan army resorted to heavy shelling by mortars along the LoC in northern Kashmir’s Uri sector, prompting befitting on Thursday.
The Pakistani troops used small arms to target civilian population and army posts in the sector in Baramulla district at around 12:50 pm, an army officer said.
“A civilian Ishfaq Ahmad Deedad son of Ali Mohd Deedad of Churanda got injured after a shell hit his residential house,” he said.
Indian troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) have retaliated resulting in heavy exchange of fire which is going on till the reports last came in from the area, they said.
