CISF Officer Killed As Militants Attack Security Post In Srinagar Outskirts

Srinagar: An officer of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was killed after militants attacked a security post gaurding a power grid station at Wagoora area of Nowgam in outskirts of Srinagar late last night.

Reports reaching GNS said that militants opened fire upon the CISF post at Wagoora at around 1:00 am resulting injuries in injuries to one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).

The injured officer identified as Rajesh Kumar was immediately taken to nearby hospital by his colleagues where doctors declared him brought dead.

SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray confirmed the incident and said that investigation into the case has been launched. (GNS)
