Security Forces Target Online Extremists, Unveil Sinister Plans to Incite Violence
Srinagar, October 19 (ANN): The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted searches at multiple locations across the Kashmir valley today, revealing a deep-rooted conspiracy involving terrorist organizations misusing social media platforms for threats, recruitment, and propaganda. The searches, authorized by a warrant from the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge Designated under NIA Act Srinagar, were carried out in Districts of Kupwara, Srinagar, Anantnag, and Pulwama.
The case, registered under FIR No. 07/2023, U/S 153-A, 505, 506 IPC, 13, 18, 18-B, 39 UAPA at P/S CIK Srinagar, exposes the malicious intent of these extremist groups and their associates. Preliminary investigations have uncovered their strategies to vilify individuals advocating peace, order, and a violence-free society, especially those resisting secessionist ideologies. Government servants in Kashmir were also targeted, facing threats and harassment aimed at hindering their lawful duties.
Through social media accounts, these associates promoted enmity and disharmony among religious and regional groups, inciting youths to engage in large-scale violence, disturbing the peace and tranquility of Kashmir. Electronic gadgets and incriminating materials seized during the searches are expected to provide crucial leads for further investigation, aiming to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the valley.
The CI Kashmir’s operation underscores the urgent need to combat online radicalization and reaffirms the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace, security, and the sovereignty of India in the region. The investigation continues as security forces work relentlessly to ensure the safety and harmony of the state.
