CIK Cracks Down on Cross-Border LeT Module, Raids Multiple Locations Across Kashmir
Searches underway in Srinagar, Shopian, and Ganderbal in connection with a transnational terror network operated from Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Srinagar: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Thursday carried out a series of coordinated raids across multiple locations in the Valley as part of an ongoing investigation into a transnational terror module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Official sources said that the searches are being conducted in Srinagar, Shopian, and Ganderbal districts following a fresh case registered at Police Station CIK. The operations are backed by a valid search warrant issued by the Hon’ble Court.
According to details, raids are currently underway at a total of 10 locations, including six in Ganderbal, three in Shopian, and one in Srinagar.
The investigation revolves around a terror module allegedly being directed by Shabir Ahmad Lone, a native of Kangan in Ganderbal, who is currently operating from Bangladesh. He is believed to be an active operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Sources further revealed that the module has cross-border linkages, with handlers based in both Bangladesh and Pakistan. The group is suspected of coordinating activities, recruitment, and logistical support for terror operations in the region.
