Chief Secretary Inaugurates Variable Message Display (VMS) at TRC Junction, Srinagar
Srinagar, May 21 : The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Kumar Mehta, inaugurated the new Variable Message Display (VMS) at the TRC Junction on MA Road, Srinagar today. The VMS installation aims to enhance traffic management and provide real-time information to commuters in the city.
Accompanied by Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, H. Rajesh Prasad, and CEO of Srinagar Smart City, Amir Ather Khan, Chief Secretary Mehta expressed his satisfaction with the project’s successful completion. Speaking to ANN News, Mr. Mehta emphasized the importance of technological advancements in improving urban infrastructure.
In a brief conversation with ANN, Principal Secretary Prasad stated, “Srinagar is looking beautiful, thanks to the combined efforts of various departments. The installation of the Variable Message Display is a significant step towards transforming Srinagar into a smart city.”
CEO Amir Ather Khan echoed Mr. Prasad’s sentiments, saying, “The completion of this project enhances our city’s capacity to efficiently manage traffic flow and provide timely information to commuters. It brings us one step closer to realizing our vision of a smarter, more vibrant Srinagar.”
In light of the recent developments, both officials expressed their enthusiasm for hosting the G20 delegates in Srinagar. The city is now fully prepared to welcome the distinguished guests for the upcoming summit scheduled to commence tomorrow.
The Variable Message Display will play a crucial role in facilitating smooth traffic movement during the G20 summit, ensuring participants and visitors receive essential information regarding routes, schedules, and other relevant updates.
